
Microsoft Word is one of the most extensively used word processors by users around the globe.Not many people are aware of this inbuilt capability and feature of MicroSoft wherein we can use it to password protect the document itself from others.
You can password protect your MS Word documents following these simple steps::
1.Open The Word Document that you want to assign with a password.
2. Click on the Tools menu.
3. Goto -> options.
4.Goto Security tab in the Options menu.
5.There are two text fields namely
* password to open.
* password to modify.
As the name suggests password to open will need you to enter the password before opening and viewing the contents of the file, whereas
password to modify will let others see the contents and will ask for the password if tried to alter or modify the contents.
