A website needs a domain name for it to be accessed via the Internet. Thus, selecting a good domain name is always as important as the contents of your website and your service. If it is a website promoting your puppy clinic, you shouldn’t register a domain name like Technosavvy.com.The domain has to have some relevance at least to what you are going to write about and what the website is all about. It is well known fact that there are many domains that are already registered that you would want to buy.Buying an already registered domain is out of the scope of this post.

We will just see here the precautions and measures that needs to be taken before registering a new domain.

It is not that easy to find the domain name of your choice in the very first instant if it is a generic domain like, say Puppycare.com as in the example above. However, it is relatively easy to register a domain with your company name XXXX followed by puppycare , like XXXXpuppycare.com.care has to be taken that the domain name that you are going to register is easy to remember and also short. Some basic common sense has to go in selecting a domain name. You cannot expect people to type something like www.puppycareatyourdoorstepintheus.com.
It has to be of reasonable length and also easy to remember which will facilitate your visitors and customers.

So, in short the basic things that you have to consider while registering a domain name are:

* Select a keyWord oriented domain
* Select a meaningful and sensible name
*The name of the domain shouldn’t be too long.
*Though hyphen(-) and numerals(0,1,2,..9) are allowed in a domain name, it is always better to avoid them whenever possible.
*Above all, selecting a dot com domain, like www.domainname.com is always better and preferred for a general website.

A picture is worth a 1000 words. That is why website owners and bloggers incorporate images in their blog posts. There are two ways to add images to a blog post or website. Firstly, you can download the image from the internet to your hard disk and then upload to your own server and host it on the site, else the free method can be used which is you can use a Free image hosting site like Imageshack.us and host your files for free.

The specialty about imageshack.us is that there is a provision for uploading a image from the url itself thereby making our work a lot easier. In many such free image host, you will have to download the image of interest to your hard disk, upload it to the image host and then get the image code of the hosted image.Whereas, in image shack, using this feature, you can directly use the image url of the image of interest to get the url of the hosted image. This saves a lot of time for bloggers.

Visit Imageshack
